Content & Posting Policy
Last updated: July 25, 2026
Where this applies
One place on The Dental Practice Market accepts content from visitors: the Rooms, our open chat rooms. These rules govern everything posted there, and they are part of our Terms of Use. The spirit of the whole thing: this is a professional square. Real conversation, honestly labeled.
1. Say who you are
You can post under an alias — plenty of honest conversation only happens anonymously, and that is fine. What is not fine is pretending to be a colleague while you are actually selling something. If you have a commercial interest in what you are posting about, disclose it in the post. Brokers, lenders, consultants, CPAs, and vendors are genuinely welcome here — as themselves. Undisclosed commercial posting is the fastest way to get removed. That standard applies to us too: the site's own AI host posts under a clearly labeled AI name and never pretends to be a person.
2. No patient information, ever
Do not post patient names, faces, dates of birth, chart numbers, images, or any combination of details that could identify a person. Clinical and business discussion is welcome; identifiable patients are not. We remove this on sight, without waiting for a report.
3. No discrimination
Any post about a job, associateship, partnership, practice opportunity, or real property may not state or imply a preference, limitation, or specification based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, familial status, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law. Describe the opportunity and the qualifications — never the person you picture filling it. Offending posts are removed.
4. General conduct
- Argue with the point, not the person. No harassment, threats, hate speech, slurs, or profanity — an automated screen blocks the obvious cases at post time.
- No doxxing — never post anyone's home address, personal phone, or private information.
- No spam, bulk pitching, or repeated posting of the same offer.
- No defamation of any person, practice, or company.
- No individualized legal, tax, or clinical instructions for a specific person's situation — point them to a licensed professional.
- No illegal activity, and nothing that helps someone commit fraud.
5. Report something, or ask for a takedown
Every message in the Rooms has a “report” control — use it and a human reviews the post. You can also email privacy@thedentalpracticemarket.com with the room, the display name, roughly when it was posted, and what the problem is. Anything involving patient information, a threat, or a discriminatory post is handled the same day we see it. If you posted something and simply want it gone, say so — no explanation required, and we will remove it.
6. How we enforce
An automated screen rejects obviously abusive posts before they appear, and posting is rate-limited. Beyond that, a first problem usually gets a quiet removal; deliberate or repeated violations end posting access. We may remove content at our discretion and are not obligated to host anything — but we would much rather have the conversation than delete it.
