Why are dental practice listings anonymous?

What a leak costs

A hygienist who hears the practice is for sale starts looking. A patient who hears it delays a crown until they know who will be doing it. A referring dentist who hears it sends the next case somewhere else. Each of those is a real reduction in the practice being sold — and in what a buyer is buying — and none of it comes back quickly.

That is why confidentiality is not a formality in this industry. It is the seller's staff, revenue and referral base for the months between listing and closing.

What is public, and what is not

Public on every listing here: metro area, specialty, and whatever the broker chose to publish about size and finances. Never public: the practice name, the street address, the owner's name, the staff. This site does not hold addresses and does not map individual practices — area clusters only, no pins.

How to get the full file

Open the listing, go to the broker, sign their confidentiality agreement and tell them what you are looking for and how you plan to finance it. That is the whole process, and it works the same way wherever the listing sits. Expect them to ask for a pre-qualification — screening buyers is part of protecting the seller.
