Why general dentistry dominates the list
Because it dominates the profession. There are far more general practices than specialty practices in the country, so there are far more of them for sale at any moment. A specialty search is a thinner list by definition, and it is worth setting an alert on rather than refreshing.
Searching by specialty and state
Every state page links to the specialty pages for that state where there are enough current listings to be worth a page. From any state page you can go straight to, for example, orthodontic practices in that state. Where a specialty has one listing in a state, it sits on the state page instead of getting a page of its own.
