Absolute count is not the same as opportunity
The states at the top of this table are the states with the most dentists, so a large count mostly reflects population. A state with 14 listings and few buyers looking at it is a different search than a state with 400 and everybody looking.
What this table will not tell you is what anything costs. The Dental Practice Market publishes supply — how many, where, what type — and never a price statistic. The asking price on each listing is the listing broker's own.
